Camp Fire Heartland is looking for a Site Lead to join our team. We are looking for someone who is passionate about helping children see their potential now, has a natural desire and experience leading others, and is willing to work hard to help Kansas City’s youth thrive. This position supervises all Program Specialists in their designated location, implements the agency’s Thrive{ology} curriculum, acts as the main point of contact for the families enrolled, sets the culture of our program in their designated location, and ensures their designated program runs to our high standards while meeting all of KS’s state licensing regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the Out-Of-School (Before and/or After School) Program at assigned site, including staffing, enrollment, quality, safety, and compliance.
- Ensure all child care licensing requirements are met.
- Help implement the development of academic and social/emotional learning lessons and programming.
- Keep staff informed of program policies and performance expectations through communication means such as staff meetings, individual supervisory meetings, and written documents.
- Use national Camp Fire data evaluation tools to measure and track program impact (outputs and outcomes) on participants, families, volunteers, and partner organizations.
- Ensure all required reports are submitted accurately and within the required time frame.
- Speak professionally with participating families to ensure they know expectations, accomplishments, and relevant information, while helping them to feel a part of the program.
- Work directly with partner organizations, agencies, and schools to deliver streamlined programming.
- Maintain confidentiality and exercise appropriate discretion.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Leadership skills and at least 2 years of experience managing staff
- Demonstrated experience working with children and families, preferably K-8th grades
- Experience in coordination of enrichment or out of school programming
- Follows direction well and has a record of positive work ethics
- Excellent organizational skills and record keeping
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and through writing/email
- Technology-efficient; Experience with Microsoft suite applications and/or able to learn new technologies quickly
- Collaborates well with others, is personable, and a team player
- Commitment to diversity
- Completes required tasks efficiently and timely
- Be able to be certified by the KS Department of Health and Human Services to supervise at least 60 children
- BA or BS degree in Education, Social Work, Psychology, Recreation Administration, Agriculture, Human Development, or related field preferred
- Pass extensive background check
This position reports directly to the Regional Out of School Program Director.
